Join me at the farm on the Summer Solstice to enjoy an evening inspired by the bounty of the season. Bring you favorite pot luck dish to share. All are welcome but please leave your critters at home. Bring a tent and stay over if you’d like or even reserve the glampsite.
For those of you wanting to take a complete hive home, this is the workshop for you. Kelsey Love will lead the course on how to make your own Sun Hive. We will start the weekend learning the craft of weaving in a larger group and spend the second day working individually on your own hive.
The Sun Hive is a biodynamic beehive created by Guenther Mancke, a German sculptor and beekeeper. It is comprised of two skeps (baskets) held together by a wooden support structure. The skeps are made of rye straw
Kelsey Love will lead this hands-on workshop where we learn the craft of weaving. Each student will participate in the process of making a hive. Wear comfortable shoes and clothing you can move in, as we will be standing and sitting throughout the day. As a group, we will complete one Sun Hive.
Registration is through the Women’s Environmental Institute.
